TORONTO, OCTOBER 3, 2022 – The Canadian Media Producers Association today announced the appointment of industry veteran Lisa Broadfoot as Vice-President, Industry and Business Affairs. In this position, Lisa will join the association’s senior leadership team, and play a strategic role leading business affairs support for CMPA members across a range of areas including project development, financing, production planning, sales, and business growth.

“Lisa has deep knowledge of Canada’s independent production sector, and knows firsthand the hard work our members put in to get projects developed, financed, produced, and sold,” said Reynolds Mastin, President and CEO, CMPA. “We are thrilled to have Lisa join our team, and know that she will be an incredible asset for the CMPA and our members.”

Lisa joins the CMPA with over 20 years of experience in Canada’s television and film sector, having held a variety of roles that touched on television, documentary, feature film, live-action scripted drama, factual, and animated production. Prior to joining the CMPA, Lisa oversaw production financing at Boat Rocker Media for its slate of kids and family, scripted, and animated productions, working to maximize financing opportunities while negotiating production service agreements with clients such as Nickelodeon, Spin Master, Mattel, and Netflix.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the CMPA as Vice-President, Industry and Business Affairs. Over the years as a member producer, I have sat on various CMPA committees and working groups and have benefited from the association’s advice and counsel,” says Lisa. “I look forward to working with the CMPA team on strategies to continue to advocate for the interests of Canadian independent producers, building on my strong relationships within the production community and other industry stakeholders.”

As a CMPA member, Lisa sat on the organization’s Regulatory Committee and its Kids and Animation Committee. She is also a member of the Computer Animation Studios of Ontario (CASO). Lisa holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from McGill University.
