CMPA promotes Jason Lee to Managing Vice-President, BC Producers Branch and Industrial Relations

VANCOUVER, March 10, 2025 — The Canadian Media Producers Association today announced the appointment of Jason Lee to Managing Vice-President, BC Producers Branch and Industrial Relations. In this new role, Jason will oversee the daily operations of the CMPA-BC Producers Branch and continue to manage the office of BC Industrial Relations.
“As an integral member of the CMPA’s senior leadership team, Jason’s deep understanding of the province’s production landscape and the challenges producers face have made him an exceptional advocate for BC members,” said Reynolds Mastin, President and CEO, CMPA. “Over the past eight years, Jason’s integrity, diligence and collaborative approach to bargaining has led to the successful renewal of numerous BC labour agreements. I know he will continue to serve BC members well in this expanded role.”

Since joining the CMPA in 2017 as Vice-President, BC Industrial Relations, Jason has served as the lead negotiator in collective bargaining on behalf of the BC Branch Council. In this role, Jason also supports BC members with various labour matters, including the interpretation of agreements and the preparation of grievances and arbitrations. He also represents the independent production sector in matters of employment standards, health and safety, and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining the CMPA, Jason was Vice-President of Business and Legal Affairs with SEVEN24 Films, managing business and financial matters for the Canadian series Heartland, Young Drunk Punk and Wynonna Earp.
The position of Managing Vice President of the BC Branch was held by Tracey Friesen until January 2025.
