OTTAWA, January 24, 2023—The Canadian Media Producers Association today announced that passes for its annual Prime Time conference in Ottawa have sold out. The 2023 edition of the annual event will welcome a record 900 conference delegates to the nation’s capital this February.

Billed as Canada’s pre-eminent conference for leaders working in media production, broadcasting, distribution, and media policy, this year’s event will feature thought-provoking panels, interactive workshops, networking events, and a large market access program where content producers can pitch their newest projects to Canadian and international buyers.

“We’re thrilled to see such strong interest in the conference this year, particularly as Prime Time returns in-person, following two years of virtual pandemic programming,” said Andrew Addison, Vice-president Communications, Marketing and Membership, who leads the event for the CMPA. “Prime Time has always operated at the intersection of media policy and the business of production, and this year’s program reflects both the huge opportunities that lie ahead, and the national debate currently underway about how the domestic industry should position itself for future success.”

Speakers appearing on the Prime Time stage this year include:

  • The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage
  • Canadian broadcasters and media leaders, including: Monika Ille, CEO, APTN; Christina Jennings, Chairman and President, Shaftesbury; Michael MacMillan, CEO, Blue Ant  Media; Justin Stockman Vice-President, Content Development, Bell Media; Catherine Tait, President and CEO, CBC/Radio-Canada
  • Global executives including: David Eilenberg, Vice President and Head of Roku Originals; Magda Grace, Head of Prime Video Canada; Katrina Kowalski, Vice-President,  Content, Paramount+ Canada; Graeme Mason, CEO, Screen Australia; Andy Singer, Head of Content, Samsung TV Plus

  • And many more…

Complete lists of conference speakers and all attending delegates are available on the Prime Time event site.

Panels will be recorded during the event and made available online, free of charge, in the weeks following the conference for those unable to attend in person.
