CMPA statement on Vince Commisso receiving Canadian Academy’s Board of Directors’ Tribute Award

TORONTO, January 19, 2022 – The Canadian Media Producers Association today issued the following statement on behalf of its President and CEO, Reynolds Mastin, congratulating Vince Commisso on receiving the 2022 Canadian Academy Board of Directors’ Tribute Award:

“On behalf of the Canadian Media Producers Association, I am very pleased to congratulate Vince Commisso, who was announced as a recipient of the 2022 Canadian Academy Board of Directors’ Tribute Award. A long-time member of the CMPA, and a past Board Director, Vince has been a key contributor to, and vital advocate for a strong and successful media production sector in this country.

Over the course of his career as an independent producer Vince has built 9 Story into a thriving global content company that employs over 1000 staff, and has created hundreds of hours of world-class programing. In addition to his production work, Vince has been relentless in his advocacy to create a brighter future for the hundreds of companies engaged in the development, production, and distribution of content across our country. He was an always collegial, constructive and consensus-seeking voice on the CMPA board, who led multiple initiatives to strengthen the organization and better serve our members. Congratulations Vince, this recognition is well deserved.”
