CMPA delegation to Durban FilmMart

The CMPA is organizing a delegation of up to five film and TV producers to attend Durban FilmMart (Oct. 9-12, Durban, South Africa), as part of a larger Canadian contingent at the market.
Participating producers will have the opportunity to connect with local and international producers to engage in conversations around co-productions, sales and distribution and to gather market intelligence on the African market. The program will also offer participating companies access to curated B2B meetings, networking events, content sessions, and more.
Ideal candidates
This initiative is created for CMPA members with demonstrated interest in the African market, looking to establish co-production and collaboration opportunities and explore financing and sales opportunities with African partners.
Program plan
The market and Canadian delegation activities will take place October 9-12, 2026. There may be additional opportunities available after the market concludes – more information will be posted once available.
Participating producers will:
- Form part of the Canadian country pavilion
- Uncover co-production opportunities
- Gain insights on the local creative market
- Participate in B2B program
- Meet industry players and potential buyers
- Boost their company’s profile in South Africa
Financial assistance
The CMPA’s selected participants will be elegible for up to $2000 in travel funding. This funding was possible through Telefilm’s International Promotion Program. Participants are encouraged to apply for additional federal or provincial funding to help cover expenses associated with attending.
