From economic upheavals and changes in the marketplace, to new political realities and transformed regulatory regimes, there is certainly no shortage of issues impacting producers and their businesses today.

Latest issues
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has begun consultations regarding Canadian programming, as part of its implementation of the Online Streaming Act.
It is seeking industry input on key topics, such as the definition of Canadian content, updated requirements for investments in Canadian programming, Canadian rights and interests related to Canadian programming, and the role of AI in the industry.
The CMPA will provide feedback to the commission via a submission and appearance in front of the committee in 2025.
As part of our ongoing advocacy efforts, the CMPA has organized dozens of meetings with elected officials from all federal political parties, outlining the work of our members, which drives economic growth, and promotes Canadian values through the content they create.
