About us
Sudbury native, David Joseph Anselmo has been in the entertainment industry for over 10 years. After graduating Laurentian University in Theater Arts, Mr. Anselmo spent 7 years working in South Korea and most of Asia as and actor and producer.
In 2009, he founded Hideaway Pictures, a Northern Ontario production company with the mandate of attracting bigger film and television productions to the North. As President of Production, he has co-produced 6 feature projects filmed in the region in 2012-13 and has triggered regional funding of just over $5 million. He has attracted films to Northern Ontario starring Academy Award Winners Richard Dreyfuss and Mercedes Ruhl, Sam Trammell from HBO's True Blood, William Baldwin, James Brolin, Jason Priesley, Adam Beach and Dominic Purcell.
Currently, Hideaway Pictures resides at The Northern Ontario Film Studios, the first professional film and television studio in the region, also established and owned by Mr. Anselmo all with the long term goal of creating long lasting cinema in the North.
