Joan Barrett’s catalog of over thirty TV reality and scripted series focuses on dating, cooking, business, and property shows. She is founder of ZigDot Productions Inc. and author of the Amazon international bestseller, Candyland S.I.N.S.--Mature Online Dating--Your Insider’s Guide, ranked in 2015/16 in Amazon’s ‘online dating’ category top ten books worldwide. She is the creator/writer of Candyland, a 30+ international film festival awards-winning scripted series and Transplanted, another screenplay award winner.
Joan has walked the walk on dating, cooking, business, and property stages and continues to do so with her related clever reality and scripted series. She has appeared on Canadian TV, HuffPost Live, Sirius Radio, and on numerous radio shows across the U.S. and Canada as an expert on mature online dating. Joan’s dating/cooking shows draw upon her romance-spiced cooking classes for Seasoned Singles that she created and hosted.
Joan wrote relationship articles as an online dating expert for GoDates.com and for Singles Warehouse, a conglomerate of worldwide dating sites. Her knowledge and understanding of a reality property and business series were achieved through 25 years as an interior designer and large home decor store owner and as a member of a multi-generational entrepreneurial family.
