About us

Since Judy Holm and Michael McNamara launched Markham Street Films Inc. in 2002, they have created five feature films and over 50 hours of documentary. Their first feature drama, Genie-nominated Victoria Day premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Hold Fast, a Newfoundland / Ontario co-production, won the audience award at the 2013 Seoul International Youth Film Festival. Big News From Grand Rock, starring Ennis Esmer, Meredith MacNeill and Gordon Pinsent and directed by Dan Perlmutter, was released theatrically in 2015.

In 2016, MSF produced the feature documentary Celtic Soul with Jay Baruchel (This is the End) and short film Bird (Molly Parker, director). Set for release in 2018 is the thriller Level 16 from writer/director Danishka Esterhazy. MSF is financing Esterhazy's next film, Jagged Winter and also financing the adventure film Sailor Girl, directed by Anita Doron (writer of the Oscar-nominated The Breadwinner) and the comedy The Return of The Fabulous 7. In 2018, the documentary Catwalk: Tales From the Cat Show Circuit was released to wide acclaim.
