Martin Katz is President of Prospero Pictures, a production and finance company specializing in international co-productions.
Prospero Pictures recent productions include the David Cronenberg films Cosmopolis starring Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche and Paul Giamatti, A Dangerous Method starring Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen and the Academy Award-nominated Hotel Rwanda. The Prospero Pictures television series Spectacle: Elvis Costello with???? is a co-production with David Furnish and Sir Elton John's Rocket Pictures, featuring performance and discussion with some of the world's leading musical artists.
Prior to founding Prospero Pictures, Katz served as a senior executive at a number of leading media companies, including Microsoft and CBC.
Katz holds degrees in law from the University of Toronto and the Universite de Paris (Pantheon-Sorbonne), and has served as Professor of Law at the French-language Universite de Moncton and as Special Lecturer in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Toronto. Katz is Chair of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and a Director of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship.
