About us

GENCO PICTURES INC. was founded in Toronto in 2015 by Laurence Gendron and Pierre Gendron, with the goal of producing entertaining, elevated, and high-concept motion pictures for Canadian and International audiences. Laurence Gendron is a Canadian producer with over fifteen years of experience in film & video production. She started in Montreal in 2006, working on several Genie and Jutra Awards winning films, such as LES TROIS P’TITS COCHONS (2007), 10 ½ (2010) and FILIÈRE 13 (2010). In October 2015, she relocated to Toronto and founded GENCO PICTURES. Under this new banner, she produced several music videos for Polaris shortlisted and JUNO winning artist Dominique Fils-Aimé, and the documentary TRACES OF HOPE (2020) which premiered at the 2020 FIFA (International Festival of Films on Arts). Her most recent feature film, A WOUNDED FAWN (2022) written and directed by Travis Sevens, premiered at Tribeca and was released on Shudder December 1st, 2022. A WOUNDED FAWN (2022) was selected in many international festivals, namely FrightFest, Fantastic Fest and Sitges. Laurence currently has two features in post-production: THE LAST VIDEO STORE (2023) distributed by Level Films and ANGEL THREE (2023), directed by Academy Award nominee Anita Doron. Pierre Gendron is an established Canadian producer with more than 35 films under his belt. He notably produced THE DECLINE OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE (1986), NIGHT ZOO (1987) and JESUS OF MONTREAL (1989).
