MICHIF KOONTEUR means "Métis Storyteller". We are a Red River Métis owned and operated company that believes good storytelling is good medicine. We almost exclusively work on Indigenous stories that promote healing by tackling complex themes of trauma and identity.

We use sophisticated story excavation principles to guide our learning and understanding of the knowledge we are gifted. It blends traditional Indigenous ways of knowing with “Western” academic knowledge. We consult with Elders, knowledge keepers, academics, historians, archivists, storytellers, as well as everyday people within Indigenous communities and their allies.

The stories we excavate are then turned into premium creative works that are designed to deeply connect with audiences on the right platform at the right time and in the right way for them to experience true understanding and positive change.
