About us

Morafe Pictures (MoPictures) is an emerging film and tv production company that is based out of Greater-Vancouver BC. MoPictures was founded out of the need to celebrate cultural exchange and the persistence of the human spirit through the screen. Our global perspective attracts us to stories from all walks of life. In 2023, MoPictures produced two short films. The first one was Bompoetse – A Story of Redemption. It was shot in Gaborone, Botswana, and the first film to be delivered in Indigenous Setswana. In May 2024 Bompoetse premiered at the African Film Festival (NYC) and was selected at the Toronto Nollywood Film Festival. Operation StupLloyd (DGCBC Greenlight Finalist) followed soon after, which was shot in New Westminster, BC, had its global premier at the LA International Kids Film Festival and premiered in Canada at the Comox Valley Film Festival, 2024. Bompoetse is currently being developed into a feature film.

Our company president and director, Vincenté Kabo Baker, has over thirteen years of production experience in both TV and feature films as an assistant director in BC. This work includes but is not limited to: Riverdale (CW Series), The 100 (CW Series), Bones of Crows (CBC Series & Feature – Leo Winner), Little Bird (BellMedia Series – Canadian Screen Awards Nominee), Robin Roberts’ Mahalia (Emmy Nominated) and, Mary J. Blige’s Real Love (Lifetime TV movie).
