About us
Cut/Off/Tail Pictures is a Nova Scotia-based production company made up of musicians and artists; director Seth Smith, producer Nancy Urich, and screenwriter Darcy Spidle. We develop and produce scripted arthouse and genre film content for multi-platform release. Our latest film, The Crescent, premiered at TIFF 2017 Midnight Madness and went on to play Sitges, Strasbourg, VIFF, FIN, Torino, Brooklyn Horror, and more. In August, The Crescent completed a theatrical release across Canada and was recently released in many international territories via Amazon Prime, iTunes and Google Play. We have several new arthouse thriller, genre, and folk stories in development, and are currently working with various production, sales, and distribution partners from across Canada and the United States, and are looking forward to making future international co-production partnerships. Cut/Off/Tail is committed to producing visually engaging and emotionally charged drama that connects with international audiences and demonstrates a unique East Coast perspective.
