Viva Mantra Films is a Vancouver-based company helmed by Baljit Sangra that specializes in content that explores social issues, underrepresented and marginalized voices, and stories. Currently Viva mantra Films I is in production on a feature documentary ‘ Out of The Stands’ for Telus Originals. Viva Mantra films are in development (Telefilm) on its first narrative feature, a coming of age story titled ‘ Stories My Mother Told Me.
Viva Mantra Films has produced one-off documentaries for broadcast : ‘Warrior Boyz’ in a co-production with NFB in association with Global/Knowledge Network; 'Many Rivers Home' for Rogers Broadcasting/Omni TV, and A&E series ( (52x 30 , 26x 60) 'VIVA 'for CityTV and Omni TV titled ‘VIVA’.
Viva Mantra films has provided line producing services for some of Bollywood’s top production companies including Yashraj Films, Ramoji Rao Studios, and T-Series. Viva Mantra has produced corporate videos for clients such as Nurse Next Door, Channel M , and Mainstream Broadcasting, Tourism BC
In addition to producing for Viva Mantra Films, Baljit also freelances as a Director. Her most high-profile project as a director is the feature Because We Are Girls produced by the NFB. Viva Mantra Films and Baljit Sangra have won awards at festivals, as well as six Leo Nominations.
