Cybill Lui is a veteran indie producer and founder of Anova Pictures, known for elevated genre films. Her global hit The Silencing (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Annabelle Wallis) was a Netflix Top 10 film in 53 countries, opened #2 in the U.S., and became Universal’s top international VOD title. Variety called it a “hit,” and Indiewire deemed it a “breakout success.”

She has produced three films with female directors: Warning (Sitges, Lionsgate), Kickstart My Heart (Oscar-qualifying festival run), and Akoni (Opening Night CinefestOZ). Her executive producer credits include Pay the Ghost (Nicolas Cage), After the Dark (Sitges nominee), and Old 37 (HorrorHound premiere).

A former partner at An Olive Branch Productions (Casino Jack, The Philosophers), she also worked with VFX leader Mr. X on mid-budget studio films. On Wall Street, she raised capital to build the U.S.’s first private proton cancer treatment centers and advised on over $1B in media/tech M&A.

Cybill is a University of Toronto alum (High Distinction), serves on the Women in Leadership Advisory Board (UC Santa Barbara), and is a PGA member. She was on the board of Girls Quest NYC, mentoring youth from low-income families. Raised in Toronto and born in Hong Kong, Cybill has a deep artistic and entrepreneurial lineage.
