One Stop Business Workshop: CANADA NOW – Sovereignty and Self-Sufficiency
June 17-19, 2025
CBC, CAVCO, and CMPA are hosting the 8th season of One Stop Business Workshop, a series of FREE vitural information sessions that introduce emerging independent producers and content creators from traditionally underrepresented groups in the industry (Indigenous, Black, people of colour, women 2SLGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities) to topics related to the business and financing of TV, film and original digital content.
This year, we will be offering three sessions highlighting how to get things done right here at home. With all that’s happening in the industry, the ever-shifting changes, we wanted to showcase how strong filming right here at home is. On day one, Tuesday June 17 – learn about what audiences are looking for and what they are watching. On day two, Wednesday June 18, hear from independent producers on interprovincial co-productions. What were the challenges, what worked, and how it all came together. On day three, the final day Thursday June 19, we’re talking about filming in the North. Hear from the film commissioners on incentives and the richness of the North as a filming destination.
Each session will run about an hour and have some time remaining for audience Q&A. The webinars will be recorded and available to registrants after each session. So if you can’t make it during the live webinar, you can access the recordings a few days after the session.
If you want to catch up on any of the sessions from previous seasons, check them out on the One Stop Business Workshop site.
ASL, Closed Captioning, and French translation will be available during the live sessions. If you require any of the mentioned accommodations, please be sure to join the Zoom session.
