Göteborg International Film Festival

Launched in 1979 with the goal to show non-mainstream films to a broader audience, the Göteborg Festival has become the biggest public film festival in Scandinavia. Each year, some 450 films from about 90 countries are screened, and the festival registers 160 000 admissions. It is also the primary networking platform for the film industry of the Nordic countries. All through the festival week 1,800 accredited producers, commissioners, directors, screenwriters, and other industry experts attend the festival.
