Disability Screen Office Call for Applications: Research Project Working Group
Deadline: February 19, 2024
The Research Project Working Group (RPWG) is established by the Disability Screen Office (DSO) to provide strategic oversight of Phase II of the DSO’s major research project, titled “Mapping Representation and Barriers to Participation by People with Disabilities in the Screen-Based Media and Broadcasting Sectors.” The RPWG is composed of one Director, one or more DSO staff members, and up to six community volunteers, the majority of whom should self-identify as having a disability, reflecting regional and linguistic diversity. The responsibilities include guiding and advising Nordicity, the commissioned research partner, in methodological decisions, reviewing materials, identifying gaps, and periodically reporting activities to the DSO. Volunteers will receive an honorarium for their active and meaningful participation, in accordance with the DSO’s Compensation Policy.
This is a 2 year commitment with the possibility of extension/renewal.
Please note, if you already filled out a DSO committee/project application form and noted your interest in “Best Practices Guide to Disability Engagement in the Canadian Film and Television Industry: Research Project – Phase 2” in 2023, we have your information on hand already. We will only contact individuals who we’ve selected for stage 2 of the selection process.
If you are interested in applying to become a member of the Research Project Working Group please fill out this linked form and upload your CV. If you are having issues filling out the form or uploading your CV, please email your responses and CV to research@dso-orphe.ca.
