About us

Downstream Documentary Productions Inc. is a production company formed by Tasha Hubbard and George Hupka. We previously collaborated on several projects, including the award-winning documentary Two Worlds Colliding and the short film Seven Minutes.

Our first project was the feature documentary, nîpawistamâsowin: We Will Stand Up, which premiered as the Hot Docs Opening Night feature in 2019 and was also named Best Canadian Documentar. We were invited to screen at the prestigious Margaret Mead Film Festival in New York in 2019.

Our most recent feature documentary, Singing Back The Buffalo, premiered at the 2024 Big Sky Festival in the US and at Hot Docs in Canada.

We are currently developing feature documentaries, documentary series, and drama series.
