Comedian, Journalist, Executive Producer of Thunder Bay

Ryan McMahon is an Anishinaabe creative that jokes, talks, yells and writes for a living. In 2012, McMahon became the FIRST Native comedian ever to record a one-hour mainstream comedy special – he’s recorded four other specials since. Today, he is one of the most sought-after Indigenous creatives on the planet. A graduate of the Second City Conservatory in Toronto, his storytelling comedy style is irreverent and boundary pushing. His podcast and media work has audiences of millions. His writing challenges the status quo and forces readers to think about the big questions of our times through a uniquely indigenous lens. His work is firmly rooted in good community practice and is at the intersection between the good, the bad and the ugly between Indian Country and the mainstream.
