Joan supports the empowerment of Black Canadians working within the screen industries; advocates for equitable policies and practices, free of anti-Black racism; and collaborates with decision-makers to develop tools and strategies that enable system-level change. She is a veteran TV executive and producer, and has commissioned hundreds of hours of award-winning Canadian content.
