EVA THOMAS

Writer, Producer, Director

Eva is a member of Walpole Island First Nation; she is also Tohono O’odham, Cherokee and Scottish. As a creator and storyteller, she is passionate about diverse stories and the portrayal of Indigenous people in a contemporary context.  Eva worked as Associate Producer on Night Raiders directed by Danis Goulet; she also ran the Indigenous Mentorship program on the film. 

In the summer of 2021, Eva was the Director Shadow for two feature films: Darlene Naponse’s Stellar and Gail Maurice’s Rosie.  She is currently writing a feature film which she plans to direct.  She also just completed the 2021 BIPOC Showrunner Bootcamp Training Program with Anthony Q. Farrell and the 2021 Women in the Director’s Chair (WIDC) Career Advancement Module (CAM). 

Committed to mentorship, Eva has mentored many writers in the imagineNATIVE Features Lab, the MAGEE TV Diverse Writers Program, and the Women in Film & Television-Vancouver’s Tricksters and Writers Program.
