Company Overview

The Canadian Claimants Group (CCG) collects and distributes retransmission royalties to copyright owners whose productions were broadcast on Canadian over-the-air stations that spillover into the northern United States. We spearhead the filing of a claim to the U.S. Copyright Office, collect and redistribute royalties to eligible members, and champion the rights of our members to an equitable share of U.S. cable retransmission royalties.

The CCG has distributed over $62M USD of retransmission royalties to rights holders in the last fifteen years.

Our members include broadcasters, producers, distributors and authorized representatives. The CCG operates on a not-for-profit basis and strives to ensure that rights holders receive the retransmission royalties that they are entitled to. There is no out-of-pocket cost to join the CCG.

To find out more about how you can join the CCG and claim your share of U.S. retransmission royalties for 2021, please contact us or visit our website at ccg-grc.ca.
