The Black Academy co-founders to be featured at Prime Time

We’re thrilled to announced that the co-founders of The Black Academy, Shamier Anderson (StowawayBruised) and Stephan James (If Beale Street Could TalkHomecoming), will appear on our digital stage for Prime Time Online 2021. By honouring, celebrating, and showcasing established and emerging Black talent, The Black Academy aims to elevate and inspire both Anglophone and Francophone Black talent across the country in the arts, culture, entertainment and sports.

In their first public appearance since the high-profile launch of their not-for-profit in December 2020, the brothers and Scarborough Ontario natives will discuss what inspired them to establish The Black Academy and their vision for its future. Moderated by Refinery29 Unbothered’s senior editor Kathleen Newman-Bremang. Additional panelists to be announced.
