TORONTO, March 19, 2019 – It is with deep sadness that we learn of the sudden passing of John Robinson – a pioneer of Canada’s modern production industry, a mentor to many, and a dear friend to countless more.

Over the span of several decades, John served in numerous leadership roles within the Canadian film and television industry, sat on the CMPA’s Board of Directors, and acted as a chief negotiator for our association. In this role, he was instrumental in the authoring of the CMPA’s original collective agreements with unions and guilds.

John was also a devoted husband to his wife Louise, and a loving father to their two children, Arianne and Jordan. Our thoughts are with them and John’s loved ones at this difficult time.
