CMPA welcomes new ACTRA National Executive Director
TORONTO, April 8, 2019 – The Canadian Media Producers Association today welcomed ACTRA’s new National Executive Director, Marie Kelly.
“We look forward to working closely with Marie Kelly and continuing to build on the productive relationship between our two organizations, for the benefit of our respective memberships and Canada’s media production sector,” said the CMPA’s President and CEO Reynolds Mastin.
The CMPA also took the opportunity to recognize ACTRA’s outgoing executive director Stephen Waddell.
“Stephen has been a fixture in our industry for decades, an effective advocate for Canadian performers, and a strong champion for Canadian culture; we wish him all the best in his retirement. ” added Mastin.
Last November the CMPA and ACTRA successfully negotiated a new three-year Independent Production Agreement (IPA). The IPA established the terms, conditions, and rates for on- and off-camera performers engaged on English-language productions in Canada, excluding British Columbia.
