About us
Fun Republic was founded in 2016 by David Cormican, an Emmy®-nominated producer, film and television tastemaker. Cormican is a member of the prestigious International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (where he currently serves as a member of the nomination committee), and the Producers Guild of America (p.g.a.) where he is a member of the international committee.
Past projects include the International Emmy®-nominated best mini-series Tokyo Trial for Netflix and NHK, the Emmy®-nominated The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe for Lifetime. Tulipani, Love, Honour & A Bicycle, the Dutch-Italian-Canadian co-production and film festival darling from two-time Academy Award® winning director, Mike van Diem, premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
Additional filmmaking accomplishments include Lullaby for Pi (Forest Whitaker) with Christine Vachon/Killer Films, The Tall Man (Jessica Biel), Faces in the Crowd (Milla Jovovich) and Rusted Pyre, which premiered at the 2011 Festival de Cannes. He recently delivered Michal Kunes-Kovác’s debut feature (a Slovak-Canadian treaty co-production), Réveillon, and is in post for the action film Hostile Takeover, and pre-production for the 6-part action series King of Killers and a 6-part sci-fi series based on the bestselling set of novels, Arthur C. Clarke’s Venus Prime.
