About us
Fonna Seidu burst onto the film industry in 2018 with the award-winning short film PROMISE ME (dir: Alison Duke). Through her company Snail Mail Media, she’s since worked on 60+ projects including producing the CSA Winner for Best Direction, Doc Series BEING BLACK IN TORONTO and CBC Gem Original hit series VIRGINS! As a Black Queer producer, Fonna champions narrative projects with compelling storylines and niche audiences. Her upcoming features include YO WE’RE DYING, supported through Telefilm's Talent to Watch, as well as THEY ECHO, a script awarded Best Feature Screenplay and the Fellini Award to the best international script, supported through the Telefilm Production Fund (Regional). She has PM'd numerous projects ranging in size and scale including the upcoming LILITH FAIR (dir: Ally Pankiw) with Dan Levy’s Not a Real Production Company and Elevation Pictures, the upcoming DEGRASSI DOC SERIES with Wildbrain and Peacock Alley, and the CSA-Winning CityTV doc series called BLACK COMMUNITY MIXTAPES with OYA Media Group. She previously produced short films FRESH MEAT (dir: Lu Asfaha) and TOE THE LINE (dir: Jay Carolyn Wu), which both screened at Inside Out Film Festival, among others.
