Travel and foreign workers

Effective April 1, 2022, pre-entry tests are no longer required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children 5 years of age or older must provide a valid pre-entry test result. Children who are less than 5 years old are not required to test, regardless of their vaccination status.

Please review the Government of Canada’s Travel to Canada: Requirements for COVID-19 Vaccinated Travellers page for further information regarding the requirements to qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller as well as the current pre-travel, arrival and post-arrival requirements.

As detailed here foreign workers, including for the film and television industry, must still qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller to enter Canada.

healthQ Canadian Production Industry Health Screening Tool

The CMPA is proud to announce the launch of the healthQ Canadian Production Industry Health Screening Tool.

We understand that CMPA members are hard at work developing rigorous health and safety policies and practices to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 within their workplaces, and healthQ has been developed to help producers carry out health screenings for cast, crew and other production personnel.

This tool is available for producers on a subscription basis from software developer Macadamian Technologies, and can be provided for use by all individuals working on production projects. For more information on the CMPA’s development of this tool, click here.
