The 21st edition of the Whistler Film Festival will be presented as a hybrid online and in-person event to connect audiences, filmmakers, and industry with the films we love, industry insights we need and the human connection that we crave. Events include film premieres, industry summits, talent programs, parties and special guest appearances by actors and directors. Plus, there’s always time for skiing, après, fine dining and more.

WFF21 will continue to reach new, engaged audiences across Canada through our virtual platform for the entire month of December. From December 1 to 31, audiences across Canada will be able to stream up to 100 films from Canada and around the world, access filmmaker Q&As, and attend a virtual Awards Celebration in true Whistler style via WFF’s online screening platforms.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the theatre in beautiful Whistler, British Columbia. WFF21 will present up to 30 feature films and ten shorts, including Oscar-contenders, breakthrough Canadian films and award-winning stories from around the globe. Filmmakers will have the opportunity to showcase their films to engaged audiences in the intimate setting you love.

Select films will premiere exclusively in-theatre.

Whistler Film Festival Content Summit | Online, Worldwide
December 1-10 + In Whistler December 1-5

The Content Summit will be presented as a unique hybrid event comprising a robust 10-day calendar of virtual programming, 1+1 Virtual Market Meetings, and select in-person panels, workshops and networking gatherings.

Featuring more than 34 sessions, including keynotes, masterclasses, fireside chats, roundtables, and 1+1’s, featuring forward thinkers, innovators, and decision-makers, there’s something for everyone. Wide-ranging topics include blockchain, IP development, financing, co-production, book-to-screen adaptations, health and wellness, and creative collaboration. The Content Summit will also feature WFF’s Power Pitch Competition with participants competing for a $36,000 producer prize package as well as networking events including morning Coffee Talks, weekly Après events and 1+1 Market Meetings.

1+1 Virtual Market Meetings at WFF play a critical role in connecting emerging filmmakers with industry leaders, commissioning editors, sales agents, distributors and other key executives attending the Festival. We are pleased to offer these meetings virtually, removing barriers to those who would otherwise be unable to attend.
