Music Rights 101 for Film and Television

Nov 26, 2020

Music Publishers Canada is proud to introduce Music Rights 101 for Film and Television, with Stohn Hay Cafazzo Dembroski Richmond LLP.

To be successful at licensing music for film and television, it is important to understand the underlying copyright principles and the practical considerations for owners and licensees. The team from Stohn Hay Cafazzo Dembroski Richmond LLP will explore the core legal rights of music rightsholders, and provide an overview of how music is cleared for use by Canadian film and television producers.

The session will also feature a panel on Indigenous Creators in Canada. A panel of Indigenous industry representatives will discuss their work, as well as what can be done to move the needle on cultural change.

SCHEDULE:

Music Rights 101 for Film and Television – 1:00pm – 4:00pm ET
