The Music Video Production (MVP) Project – Round 8

The MVP Project is dedicated to supporting and promoting emerging artists and filmmakers through opportunities to create music video content that speaks to Canadians and viewers around the world. The fund is committed to providing opportunities to a diverse group of high-quality Canadian talent. The MVP Project invites applications from all qualified applicants, especially those who identify as women, non-binary, LGBTQ, Indigenous, as a person with disabilities or as a Person of Colour. The goal of the MVP Project is to enable all storytellers to explore their creativity, hone their filmmaking skills, and to encourage growth and development within the music & film industries. 

A maximum of $150,000 in total funding is available per round of the MVP Project.  The majority of this funding will be dispersed as individual production grants valued between $5,000 and $15,000. 

A portion of funds from each funding round will be allotted to a Curated Music Video Production, which will commission a piece from one (1) recording artist/director team who have successfully collaborated in the past. 

Applications will be assessed by MVP Project administrators and a peer-based jury of music/media professionals. Regional juries will be designated as follows: a. Western Canada (incl. Territories)  b. Ontario  c. Quebec d. Eastern Canada
