CrossCurrents Doc Funds - 2019
Aug 21, 2019
Promoting inclusion in the documentary space, the CrossCurrents Doc Funds foster storytelling from within groups whose perspectives have been historically underrepresented. The filmmaker’s deep connections to the community will offer a unique perspective on the stories they share.
There are two funding streams:
– Canadian, supported by Netflix: For emerging and sophomore Canadian storytellers who are Indigenous, Francophone, Deaf, with disability, or who are racialized.
– International: For emerging filmmakers from and telling stories from within communities whose perspectives have been historically underrepresented. Short/interactive projects are supported by the R&M Lang Foundation, which initiated the Fund in 2013; feature-length project support is underwritten by the Panicaro Foundation.
Applications are open with a deadline of August 21, 2019.
