Union of British Columbia Performers

The Union of British Columbia Performers (UBCP) BC Master Production Agreement establishes the terms, conditions and rates for on-camera and off-camera performers engaged on English-language production in British Columbia and the Yukon. UBCP is an autonomous branch of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA). The UBCP BC Master Production Agreement is jointly negotiated by the CMPA and the Canadian Affiliates of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP)

The 2015-2018 UBCP BC Master Production Agreement was ratified on March 19, 2015.  The term of the agreement is from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2018.  New wages rates come into effect on March 28, 2015.

Fees for engaging performers under the UBCP BC Master Production Agreement

CMPA administration fees as per Article A411 (b) of the 2009-2012 BC Master Production Agreement are summarized below:

  • If the producer is a member in good standing with the CMPA as of the date of remittance of the administration fee, the producer shall pay one percent (1%) of the gross performers’ fees, to a maximum of three thousand dollars ($3,000) per production or episode to the CMPA
  • However, if the gross performers’ fees in respect to a production (excluding a series) exceed two million dollars ($2,000,000), the above noted maximum administration fee shall be five thousand dollars ($5,000)

All administration fees are subject to GST/HST with rates based on the province of production. The CMPA GST/HST number is 121408322RT.
