The NABET 700-M UNIFOR Collective Agreement (NABET) Agreement establishes the terms, conditions and rates for a number of technical crew including, but not limited to, the departments of: grip, prop, construction, transportation, set, hair, make-up and wardrobe engaged on productions in Ontario.
The current NABET 700-M UNIFOR Agreement is in effect from January 1, 2016–December 31, 2018 and is available here.
Fees for engaging personnel under the NABET 700 Unifor Agreement
CMPA administration fees, as per Article 11.9 (a) of the 2016 - 2018 NABET 700 UNIFOR/CMPA Agreement are summarized below:
- A producer who is a member in good standing with the CMPA shall remit an amount equivalent to one and one-half percent (1.5%) of the bargaining unit technician’s gross pay to a maximum of two thousand, three hundred and seventy-five dollars ($2,375) per episode of a series or part of a mini-series, three thousand, three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($3,325) for a feature or movie-of-the week (MOW) and four thousand, seven hundred and fifty dollars ($4,750) for high budget (tier A or tier B) features or MOW
- Gross pay is inclusive of vacation pay
- The producer shall process this payment with the regular payroll and remit the monies directly to the CMPA within seven (7) days
All administration fees are subject to GST/HST with rates based on the province of production. The CMPA GST/HST number is 121408322RT.
