The Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) Independent Production Agreement (IPA) provides the terms, conditions and rates for on-camera and off-camera performers engaged on English-language productions in Canada, excluding British Columbia.  The ACTRA IPA is jointly negotiated by the CMPA and the AQPM.

The current ACTRA Independent Production Agreement (IPA) is in effect from January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2018 and can be found here.  The 2016 – 2018 rate sheet can be found here.

Fees for engaging performers under the ACTRA IPA

CMPA administration fees as per Article A3701 (c) of the 2016-2018 ACTRA IPA as summarized below:

  • For members in good standing, the producer shall pay to the CMPA two percent (2 %) of the gross performers’ fees, to a maximum of three thousand and eight hundred dollars ($ 3,800) per production or episode
  • If the gross performers’ fees on a production (excluding a series) exceed two million dollars ($ 2,000,000), the administration fee shall be five thousand and seven hundred dollars ($ 5,700)

All administration fees are subject to GST/HST with rates based on the province of production.  The CMPA GST/HST number is 121408322RT.
