Victoria Shen manages CMPA’s labour-related litigation; participates in collective bargaining; advances labour-related government relations; assists members with labour relation matters such as collective agreement interpretation and grievances; and manages the various labour relation committees and health and safety initiatives to which CMPA is a party.
Victoria began her legal career at a leading labour and human rights law firm. She was subsequently in-house, in the largest union local in Canada. Most recently, she was counsel and manager at a legal clinic specializing in human rights law.
Victoria was on the board of directors of the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival for six years and a producer on the Gemini-nominated program Vox at TVOntario. She served as President of the Chinese Canadian National Council, Toronto Chapter (2006-2008) and is a current board member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers.
Victoria completed her Common Law (LLB) and Civil Law (BCL) degrees at McGill University with an exchange semester at Universiteit Maastricht in the Netherlands. She has a BA in Semiotics from the University of Toronto.
