Re: Call for Nominations for the 2013 – 2015 CMPA Board of Directors
The CMPA is commencing the process of electing a new Board of Directors. All directors elected to the Board will serve for a two (2) year term from June 2013 until June 2015. Any member of the CMPA in good standing may provide their own nominees for the Board of Directors to the Nominating Committee by obtaining the signature of at least two (2) CMPA voting members who are in good standing on any such nomination.
Nominees wishing to stand for election must:

Complete the CMPA 2013-2015 BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATION FORM, the CMPA DIRECTOR’S DECLARATION, and the SCHEDULE A DECLARATION OF CORPORATE AND OTHER INTERESTS FOR POTENTIAL CMPA DIRECTORS, and return the three (3) forms by email to Susanne Vaas (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday, March 29, 2013 at 8 pm Eastern time; and,
3. Send a maximum 250 word biography as an electronic text file (and, if desired, attach a photo in a jpeg or gif format) by email to email@example.com by Friday, March 29, 2013 at 8 pm Eastern time.
It is anticipated that there will be at least four (4) Board meetings that are likely to occur in June (Banff), September (Toronto), December (Toronto), and February (Ottawa) of each year of the two-year term. Board members are expected to attend all meetings. If a Board Member misses more than two (2) meetings per year over the course of their two-year term, it could affect their eligibility to stand for re-election in the following year.
Members elected to the Board of Directors will be expected to attend the incoming CMPA Board meeting taking place on June 9, 2013 in Banff, Alberta.
Elected directors serve as volunteers and as such are not financially remunerated for their service. Basic expenses for travel to Board meetings are reimbursed.
All potential CMPA Directors are required to complete the attached forms entitled “CMPA Director's Declaration” and “Declaration of Corporate and Other Interests for Potential CMPA Directors”. This is required under CMPA By-laws in order to ensure that you:
We draw your attention to the following sections of the CMPA By-laws:
“3.2 Composition: The Board of Directors shall be composed in accordance with the provisions of this section:
(i) when two or more affiliated or associated entities are voting members of the Corporation, only one delegate from such a group of members may serve as a director at any one time.
3.3 Disclosure of Interests: The Board of Directors shall require a Disclosure Statement from all individuals standing for election as directors. This information shall relate to an applicant’s legal affiliation with any Person who provides access to the film, television or interactive media market or with any other member of the Corporation.”
The attached forms, including the nominee’s brief biography, must be received by Friday, March 29, 2013 at 8 pm Eastern time. If we do not hear from you by that date, we will assume you do not wish to put forward any nominations for the CMPA Directors of the Board.
