The CMPA is currently seeking a bright, engaged and dedicated individual to join its Toronto office.   You are an intelligent and highly organized individual with a proven ability to multi-task and respond effectively to frequently-shifting priorities in a fast-paced office environment.  As a proactive problem-solver, you possess sound judgment and are not afraid to take initiative.  You are an outgoing and energetic individual who takes pride in their work and contributes to a positive work environment.  Having worked in a supporting role in media/entertainment, you have a high degree of professionalism and strong communication skills.

Reporting to the Vice President, Outreach and Strategic Initiatives, the Coordinator’s role is primarily an administrative one, with some project based work relating to professional development, outreach, member services and special projects.

Core Responsibilities

All responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the Vice President, Outreach and Strategic Initiatives:


  • Provide administrative support to the Vice President, Outreach and Strategic Initiatives.  This includes handling the calendar, booking meetings, recording minutes, booking travel and handling expenses
  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure quality and efficiency (i.e. meet deadlines, be flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities, etc.)
  • Support the Digital Opportunities Committee and the Membership Committee.  This includes scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and managing communications and follow-up
  • Be an efficient team player and contribute to a positive work environment


Professional Development

  • Assist with planning and execution for initiatives related to member networking and professional development including booking venues, making arrangements with vendors, assisting with promotion and registration, liaising with members and speakers, managing the event’s budget, webcasting, offering support during the event, drafting participant surveys and reporting to the Vice President regarding the event
  • Assist with CMPA’s annual flagship conference Prime Time, as requested



  • Assist regarding the administration of sponsorships, including communicating with applicants, assisting with contracting and payment and assisting Communications with fulfillment of deliverables
  • Work with Communications to promote CMPA’s sponsorships and their benefits to members
  • Attend industry events as requested to promote the CMPA
  • Create opportunities to consistently promote the value of membership to non-members
  • Ensure sponsorship, special projects and professional development activities are promoted to CMPA members


Member Services

  • Work with communications team to manage the Membership section of the website
  • Work with communications team on the Members Matters e-blast, which highlights new member benefits
  • Support the development and administration of member benefits (insurance, discounts, etc.)
  • Support the Manager, Member Services and Special Events regarding membership renewal
  • Be a ‘first port of call’ for members seeking information about sponsorship discounts or other benefits


Special Projects

  • Assist with or, in some cases, manage special projects.  These tasks will vary widely, dependent upon the outcome to be achieved.  The objective of CMPA’s special projects is to create valuable assets that enhance our members’ businesses.  Examples include the International Digital Sales Database and Back Office in a Box


Additional responsibilities

  • Such other duties, generally consistent with the job description, as may from time to time be required and assigned or as may be mutually agreed
  • Take initiative to identify and recommend improvements in own job function(s), research and/or investigate issues requiring resolution in order to execute on assigned tasks

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary degree
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in support positions within a media/entertainment environment

  • Solid and detailed knowledge of all MS Office programs
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Professional and highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • High level of independence
  • Knowledge of key players and trends within Canadian and global content markets



  • English (written and spoken) essential
  • French (written and spoken) considered an asset
